CryptoCounter FAQ

Q: What does CryptoCounter do?

A: CryptoCounter counts and summarizes poker hands played on the Cryptologic network. Numerous filters can be applied to only summarize the hands you want.

Q: How much does CrytpoCounter cost?

A: CryptoCounter is absolutely free. We do however encourage you to visit our sponsors via the front page banner and under the "Links" menu.

Q: How do I use CryptoCounter?

A: First, in the green section, you need to specify where the hand histories to be scanned are. Cryptologic poker rooms store the hand histories for all hands when you are seated at the table on your hard drive. This is typically in "C:\Program Files\POKER CLIENT NAME\log". Next you need to type in your poker screen name which is also in the green section. Choose additional search criteria as needed, including particular hands in the blue area, minimum rake in the orange, date ranges in the yellow section, and certain limits under the "Filters" menu. After making all selections, click the "Count" button. CryptoCounter will scan the files and return a totals for all hands meeting the criteria you selected.

Q: Are there other uses for CryptoCounter?

A: Yes, you can also use CryptoCounter to search for specific hands, useful for certain promotions such as the InterPoker Pocket Cowboys Weekend. To search in this manner you need to access the view menu and switch to the Starting Hands View. The blue starting hands fields will appear. To search to pocket kings set card 1 and card 2 to king and leave the suit as all. If you want to search for hands where you had two spades where one was an ace, set either card 1 or card 2 to Ace and leave the other card at all, then set suit 1 and suit 2 both to spades. After selecting the cards, click find and a list will appear in the Game Numbers field. This field is clickable, double clicking on a hand number will open the file in notepad. There is also a # found field which will tell you how many starting hands that were found that match the criteria specified.

Q: I keep getting an error that no hands were found, what is wrong?

A: Check the following areas:
  • Screen Name - Make sure this is your poker name.
  • Date Range - Check that you have played hands within this range.
  • Card Selection - Make sure you have been dealt the cards selected.
  • Min. Rake - Make sure the pot has been raked at least the minimum.
  • Limits - Check the "Filters" menu to ensure you have played at the limits selected.

Q: Why is it that every time I start CryptoCounter, I have to re-input my settings?

A: The Tools menu has an option to Save Setting on Exit. Set up CryptoCounter and check that box, next time you start CryptoCounter it will have the same settings as when you exited. If you uncheck the box the settings will default back to the original settings.
